The STI team works hard to continue the
work Jack Taylor started over 40 years ago. Our first product, the Stopper® Call
Point Protector, came directly at the request of a high school principal in the
United States, who had a problem with false fire alarms. Most new products
throughout the years are a direct result of these types of requests. If you
have a false fire alarm issue, theft, vandalism or other problem, we invite you
to contact us with the challenge of solving it for you.

Cut the cost of false alarms with the new Low Profile Universal Stopper®
A false fire alarm can prove extremely costly; wasting company time, disrupting crucial school exams, and increasing the risk of road traffic collisions involving emergency vehicles – costing precious time, resources, and lives.
A false fire alarm can prove a costly exercise for bars; an evacuation means unhappy customers, wasted drinks, and potential fines – amounting to a significant loss in revenue.
False fire alarms have risen by 20 per cent in just three years at NHS Trusts across England; stretching resources, unsettling patients and disrupting vital care.
Figures from NHS Digital reveal there were 20,126 false fire alarms at NHS Trusts in England throughout 2017/18, compared with 16,847 in 2015/16 and 19,777 in 2016/17 – one Trust alone recorded upwards of 500 false alarms.
The worrying figures show that a number of patient’s sustained ‘injuries during evacuation’, highlighting the damaging effects of an unnecessary evacuation.
Across the 232 NHS Trusts listed within the data, a total of 1,391 genuine fires were recorded during 2017/18.

False fire alarms on the rise: Do you require a solution?
More than 3,000 false fire alarms were maliciously triggered
across England in 2017/18 – disrupting schools and businesses, placing
unnecessary strain on our emergency services and reducing the confidence the
general public have in alarms.
The latest Home Office figures reveal that; there were a
total of 3,029 false alarms caused by a ‘malicious activation of fire call
point/alarm’ in England for the period July 1 2017 to June 30 2018, an increase
of 160 on the previous year, and the highest figure seen for over 5 years.
Accidental activations also saw an increase during this
period; 14,199 false fire alarms were recorded due to a manual call point being
‘accidentally or carelessly’ set off, a significant increase of 472 false
alarms and again the highest number since 2012.
A further 782 false alarms were recorded due to damage to
the apparatus for the year ending June 2018, up from 750 on the previous year.
Continuing to be the largest incident type, false fire
alarms accounted for 41 per cent of the incidents attended by Fire and Rescue
Services in England – fires accounted for just 29 per cent.
