LPCB is a world-renowned certification mark for loss
prevention, with a history of excellence dating back to 1880. LPCB
certification is delivered by BRE, the UK’s leading independent test and
certification authority for security, fire and the built environment. Its
certification is based on rigorous testing, evaluations and audits. These
combine to ensure products carrying the LPCB mark deliver proven levels of
protection; providing trusted assurance to stakeholders around the globe. LPCB’s RedBook list of certified products (www.redbooklive.com) provides a
comprehensive and up-to-date list of products certified to a host of globally
recognised physical and electronic security standards.
Over the course of the show, BRE’s
expert team of security test engineers will carry out a series of live forced
entry tests on a variety of security products, demonstrating the rigorous
approach taken when evaluating products’ resistance to forced entry, the
capabilities of products certified to LPS1175 and the dangers of selecting
uncertified products.

JOD Engineering take access cover to market following successful LPCB certification
Challenge
JOD Engineering – a Preston-based mechanical engineering company – put innovation at the heart of everything they do. In early 2015, as JOD had ongoing projects requiring access to equipment in chambers, they noticed that legitimately getting into, and subsequently locking, a secure access cover had become cumbersome. Keen to address this issue, JOD decided to develop a system to make access faster and easier. Within conventional hasp and staple type systems however, padlocks can become lost, contaminated or damaged as they are removed from the access cover.

Meesons use LPCB certification to improve the provision of security across buildings
Challenge
With crime in the United Kingdom increasing, the need to provide a level of delay to burglars, criminals, terrorists, or others who are prepared to use force to gain access on the perimeter of a site has also risen. Specifiers now require high levels of protection from the perimeter to the building façade and through to internal zones.Meesons – a leading provider of physical entrance control and anti-tailgating solutions – first commissioned testing and certification from BRE in 2018, however, their ambition did not rest there. Meesons have worked closely with LPCB since then to raise the level of security available to specifiers, providing peace of mind that a security product offers a reliable delay and means of detection required to protect against intrusion.

Market-first: Frontier Pitts produce 120-degree rotor turnstile, certified by LPCB
Challenge
In 2011, Frontier Pitts became the first manufacturer to achieve LPS 1175 certification for turnstiles. In 2019, Frontier Pitts began to see specifiers adopting the latest version of LPS 1175 (Issue 8) and specifying entire perimeters to specific LPS 1175 security ratings. This created a need for turnstiles and gates that delivered protection levels which matched the security ratings achieved by the adjacent fence line. As a result, Frontier Pitts launched their Platinum Turnstile; first released as a 90-degree 4 section walkway unit in December 2019. Commenting on behalf of Frontier Pitts, Sally Osmond said “Our ability to tailor the Terra Diamond turnstile to suit lower security ratings very quickly and economically was certainly helped by the experience we had gained being the first to develop an LPS 1175 rated turnstile and the extensive data set BRE had provided during the evaluation of that turnstile”.
Nottingham Castle protected through LPCB-certified secondary glazing from Selectaglaze
Challenge
To develop secure interactive and engaging exhibition spaces during a recent large-scale refurbishment of Nottingham Castle, it was important to enhance the security of several large original single glazed windows.
However, the museum’s Grade I status meant enhancements to its security had to be achieved in a careful manner, minimising the impact on the exterior and interior appearance of the castle, originally built in 1068.
