The application of image analysis techniques on video surveillance systems permits to analyze and handle the information contained in video images and acquire useful data for the operational efficiency and business intelligence.

From its video based people counting product range, Visual Tools will be showing the IP People Counter unit, PeCo1. This is a unit that provides people flow data and statistical knowledge of client traffic and tendencies to all types of premises that are open to the public via TCP/IP.

The PeCo1 measures, saves and transmits the data to any PC, from where they can be analysed by accessing the unit Web interface or by using PeCo-Graph, Windows software included with the units, that permits the manual or automatic download, and the graphical visualisation of the counting data from one or multiple PeCo range units.

It is a compact unit with an internal counting camera but that permits the use of an external installed one. It measures the visitors flow in a determined area with a reliability of 95%, being able to differentiate between the direction of traffic (in/out) and the passage of several people simultaneously. Its configuration an access can be made via MS Internet Explorer and it is provided with a free software that permits manual or programmed data downloads from different units simultaneously, their analysis and export.
