Office buildings are one of the most power consuming spaces nowadays.
Office buildings are one of the
most power consuming spaces nowadays. Abit Software has a simple solution that
can make your office building a “Green Space”, providing Door Access Control
boards that can be customized based on your needs.
One of our clients that had ACX-24 boards installed, access controllers
using card readers, brought up a challenge for us: his ideal was to save as
much electricity as possible in his office building from plugged in computers,
monitors, printers and from the electromagnetic door locks.
We upgrade the boards with a new firmware, without any components
replacement on the controllers, to do exactly that: create a “Smart office”
able to save power solution.
You are probably wondering: How is this working? Well, we will explain
it to you:
We defined two time zones: one time zone contained the outside doors (the
main entrances in the building) which were closed allowing access only with
cards at all times, the other time zone contained the inside doors.
The board was programmed to power up all the inside door locks half an
hour before the working program started and to shut down the power when the
last person in the building used his access card to exit.
In addition to this we added some features as a precaution measure:
·
If anyone
tried to force open the door, the board powered up the system in order to keep
everything safe, started a 2 minutes alarm and sent a text notification about
the event.
·
If someone
enters the building after business hours using an access card, the system will lock
all the doors inside and will go into saving power mode after that person
leaves the area.
Other two time zones were added to the system for the windows: one time
zone between working hours and the other one outside working hours. The ACX
board allows you to add a Module with additional inputs in order to add
contacts to your windows, for example.
A contact was added to every window and if anyone tried or succeeded in
opening a window outside of working hours, the system would have the same
protocol as for the doors, described above.
Have you ever tried to imagine how many power you could save by
unplugging your computer, your monitor, your printer every single day? Well,
multiply it by 2 billion people that leave their computers plugged in daily, and
you will understand why at least office buildings should use our solution for a
better future.
Be Smart. Be Safe. “Go Green” with Abit
Software.

Besides the fact that no other person except stuff members (teachers, security guards, cleaning stuff) and students should be granted access between school premises and for that each school should have a very strict Access Control System, we thought of a special feature that might be of interest: The ACX Access Control System with a special input-output module which can help save energy.
Let’s imagine the following situation: All the hotels have private parking for guests. How about adding in the registration form the car’s plate number and for the barrier system to take this information along with the check in and check out dates and automatically allow your guest access?
Everyone enjoys a day for themselves from time to time. People that come to the SPA don’t really want to be stressed about anything during their stay because that would defeat the purpose of them being there. Is very important to offer them peace of mine, trust and safety. How about we do that for your clients?
ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) is used frequently nowadays, but a basic system does not have the option to program the access a certain way. We have the solution for you! Using the ACX controllers as your entry system, you can easily add to it through the RS 232 port a camera that can read plate numbers and you can program it to allow a limited number of cars.
