PFS Fire and Security were looking for a connectivity solution for a medical centre affected by the Ransomware cyber-attack.
THE BRIEF
Ransomware is a malicious program that locks a computer's files until a ransom is paid; the attack affected more than 200,000 victims in 150 countries. The medical centre’s Security system had been using the internet path on a local area network (LAN) but as a result of the cyber-attack the premises were left compromised.
THE PRODUCT
To suit the requirements of the medical centre, PFS chose to use CSL’s WorldSIM within a GJD GSM dialler. The WorldSIM ensured that the dialler could send voice and SMS notifications on activation. Using CSL’s WorldSIM means that there is no need to rely on the building’s existing infrastructure. It also ensures the best cellular/mobile signal is used to provide fast and reliable signalling.
THE ROLLOUT
Following the cyber-attack a rapidly deployable solution was required to secure the premises against any future threats. From the initial phone call being received by PFS to commissioning the unit, the full process was complete in just under two hours. In addition to the WorldSIM, CSL also provide a range of mobile Routers which can be used to port traffic across cellular networks. This solution is especially helpful where data needs to be encrypted or where a building’s infrastructure is not reliable enough to do the job for you.
THE LONG TERM BENEFITS
By choosing CSL WorldSIM, PFS’s end-user has eliminated the risk of the medical centre’s security being compromised. A strong partnership has been established and PFS are looking forward to continuing to work closely with CSL to remain at the forefront of the latest technologies and services.
“With the security of the medical centre being compromised it was vital that we had a rapidly deployable solution to resolve this. CSL’s WorldSIM did exactly that, allowing us to provide a secure connection to get systems up and running again.”
