Paxton, UK access control leaders, provide product confidence with free installer training sessions

27 May 2014

Paxton, the global brand of electronic access control and door entry equipment, invests significantly in the free training and education of its installers worldwide to ensure its products are sold and installed with confidence. They are offering hands-on, free installer training sessions throughout 2014 in varying locations across the UK.

Since the beginning of 2013 Paxton have trained over 8,000 installers globally, with 3,500 of those UK based. This training strategy, backed by industry-leading products and customer support, ensures installers are positioned to realise growth potential in the security industry.

Training sessions are designed to provide installers with the essential knowledge needed to install Paxton’s complete range of standalone and networked products, ensuring installation is always correct and reducing the time taken to fix errors on site. The sessions include installation techniques and fault finding as well as useful information regarding the administration and use of systems. Paxton’s method of short lectures and practical hands-on training allows installers as much time as required to become familiar with products in the classroom.

Three courses are offered, providing installers with varying levels of training;

Standalone Training is suitable for new installers of access control and Paxton products. Paxton’s simple and robust standalone products offer a straightforward solution for securing customer's premises. The session covers the installation and commissioning of the Compact and Switch2 systems.

Net2 Essential Training is crucial for anyone installing Net2, Paxton’s smart, simple IP door entry system, whether they are a new installer or a regular installer looking to keep up with the latest developments. The course will cover how to install and configure the Net2 hardware and the maintenance of the system.

Net2 Advanced Training is designed for installers who have completed the Net2 Essential training and wish to expand their knowledge of the more specialised applications for Net2. The course takes a more in-depth look at the installation of Net2 hardware, configuration of remote sites, integration with other systems and the advanced features of Net2 Pro software.

Dayne St Aimee of Not Just Electrics Ltd who attended the Standalone Training said: “I never thought it was possible to learn so much about access control systems in such a short amount of time. This speaks volumes about how good Paxton’s installer training is. If you’re struggling in any area it’s okay to speak up, you're guaranteed an informative answer. Paxton training combines theory and practice, which really helps when you get back on site.”

Dean O’Brien of IT Concepts said: “I was very impressed with the simplicity of Paxton’s practical workshops. The hands-on training and trainer knowledge was invaluable and made learning about the product really straightforward and enjoyable. This was time very well spent.”

As well as installation training, Paxton also offer commercial sessions, providing installers with the tools to sell and specify with confidence. They take the form of short lectures followed by interactive sections allowing installers to become familiar with products and how to communicate benefits to their customer.

Paxton free training and education is also available in Germany, Benelux, South Africa, France and the US, making it even easier for installers to get up to speed on the latest security solutions.

Training is flexible with all installation courses available at Paxton’s head office in Brighton, and Net2 Essential and advanced training also offered at installers premises (numbers permitted and UK mainland only). For those unable to attend training or to hold it at their premises, Paxton have introduced weekly webinars on systems and products. Commercial sessions take place at various locations across the UK throughout the year.

Steven Woodbridge, Paxton Training Manager says: “Paxton’s philosophy has always been to keep things simple and with our hands-on training sessions it really couldn’t be easier. Each of our sessions has been designed to provide installers with essential knowledge needed to sell and install our products with confidence, enabling them to open new opportunities and increase sales after just one days training.”

Taster training sessions will be available at Paxton’s stand during IFSEC 2014, or if you’d like to book your place on a full training day at Paxton head office or at your premises visit the website at www.paxton.co.uk for 2014 dates and locations around the country.
