The No Falls Foundation is a UK based charity devoted to the
work at height sector. The charity is dedicated to preventing falls from height and
helping people affected by the life-changing consequences of a fall. It aims to
foster greater awareness and understanding of the risks associated with working
at height, to research the causes of falls from height and to support those
facing the aftermath of a fall.
The need for a charity dedicated exclusively to the work at
height sector is clear. Falls from height remain the single biggest cause of
fatalities in the workplace accounting for 26% of all fatal incidents. Every
year falls from height cause 35 deaths in Great Britain and an additional 4 in
Northern Ireland. It’s also estimated that there are up to 35,000 non-fatal
falls from height, often resulting in very serious injury – that’s nearly 100 falls
every single day.
