Moxa is pleased to announce the VPort 26, an outdoors fixed-dome IP camera. Designed to deliver video surveillance in harsh outdoors environments, the VPort 26 is vandal-proof and IP66 rated. In addition to the rugged design, the VPort 26 provides high image quality at SVGA (max. 800 x 600) resolution, three simultaneous H.264/MJPEG 3 video streams, and a day-and-night camera lens.

High Quality Image and Video Performance

The VPort 26 captures high quality video images using a 2.8 to 11 mm vari-focal lens that adapts to any viewing angle and distance requirements. With the built-in removeable IR-cut filter and automatic switching from color to B/W images, the VPort 26 series is suitable for day-and-night use. Images are enhanced even further with the 3D-DNR (3D Digital Noise Reduction) function which greatly reduces noise and the WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) function which produces more vibrant images in backlit conditions. The optional de-mist function also ensures good image quality in rainy, snowy, or hazy environments.

The VPort 26 series is designed to encode both H.264 and MJPEG video streams and simultaneously transmit up to 3 independent video streams (2 in H.264, and 1 in MJPEG) at up to 30 FPS. Operators can assign each individual stream to a specific purpose. Advanced network security functions, such as 802.1x and SSH, are also provided to prevent unauthorized access or stolen data, which are critical concerns for most surveillance applications. With the embedded DynaStream™ feature, operators can increase network efficiency by dynamically adjusting the video frame rate in response to surveillance events or network conditions.

Rugged Hardware Design

Designed for outdoor applications, the VPort 26 series is housed in a tough metal enclosure with IP66 rain/dust protection and high EMI/surge protection. To avoid physical damage, the IK10-rated outdoor camera can withstand impacts of up to 20 joules, meaning the camera will shrug off the impact of a 5 kg weight dropped from a height of 40 cm. Furthermore, the VPort 26 series can operate under -40 to 50°C ambient temperatures without requiring a fan or heater, and includes a built-in dehumidifying membrane that prevents internal moisture damage. These unique industrial features combine to create highly reliable video surveillance applications.  The VPort 26 comes in both PoE (Power over Ethernet, 802.3af) and standard 12/24 VDC or 24 VAC wired power variants.
