Social housing development benefits from Magply performance
Off-site timber frame systems are evolving with an increasing market share in the construction industry with speed of build becoming a major factor along with fire risk and weather damaged products during the construction phase. One supplier addresses all three factors, including an social housing development in Essex, utilising Magply boards as an internal lining board to internal and external walls. The project at Buckingham Green, Basildon, has seen T.T.F.C Ltd. erect a total of six new homes. The two two-storey and four three-storey houses have been supplied in panel form by Wexford – based T.T.F.C Ltd.

Magply boards specified for golden brick social self-build
An acclaimed UK based PassivHaus specialist is employing Magply modified MgO boards as part of its high performance, site assembled system for a major affordable housing scheme currently under construction in Oxfordshire.
Beattie Passive is involved in the supply and erection of two and three bedroom terraced homes as well as coach house and ‘Golden Brick’ self-builds on the Graven Hill project in Bicester, being built on former MOD land. It is part of a 1900 home sustainable garden city project led by Cherwell District Council. In addition to the outstanding energy performance, the key attractions of the Beattie Passive system to self-builders is its simplicity, with minimal components and genuine flexibility, whereby the Golden Brick package is being made available as a design and technical service only, through to a fully insulated and airtight, weatherproof exterior envelope ready for fit-out or a total ‘Turnkey’ contract.

Dublin Apartments use offsite system featuring Magply performance
The full range of performance benefits to Magply boards have been utilised in the specification of an advanced offsite system being employed in the construction of a new apartment building standing alongside a famous central Dublin landmark on Amiens street. Linham Construction is the main contractor and developer for the Five Lamps project, which is creating ten single bedroom apartments plus a two-bedroom, duplex property. The structure has been designed and specified by Building Surveying consultants, Merriman Solutions, to achieve an A1 Building Energy Rating under Part L of the Building Regulations. Edge structural engineers provided structural engineering for the LGS frame. 9mm Magply boards are being used to walls and 12mm to ceilings of construction for their strength, fire performance and overall durability as well as their excellent weather resistance during the build period.
