LUXURY DUBAI PROPERTY DEVELOPER DEPLOYS MAXXESS eFUSION

16 Jun 2015

The security management platform increases resilience and efficiency, while ensuring a low cost of ownership and future proofed technology for Damac

Maxxess and Damac Properties, a leading luxury property developer in the Middle East, have the announced the successful roll out of eFusion across Damac’s headquarters and six sales office in Dubai. Established in 2002, Damac delivers iconic new developments across the region with a portfolio that includes hotels, serviced apartments and branded real estate partnerships with some of the world’s most exclusive brands.

To support Damac’s rapid growth plans, the company needed to centralise access control, strengthen security, facilitate accurate time and attendance and improve human resources processes.  Damac also wanted to protect its investment, so required a flexible, futureproof solution to both integrate existing hardware and add new equipment regardless of the manufacturer.

Damac selected Maxxess and leading Middle East systems integrator, Orion Systems, to design a solution to unify Damac’s access control functions on to the Maxxess eFusion platform.  As a modular system built on universal, open technology software, it enables off-the-shelf integration, scalability and future expandability, while providing the freedom and flexibility to add best-in-class equipment from any manufacturer.

The entire system was upgraded while maintaining a majority of Damac’s existing hardware. Intelligent eFusion controllers, each integrated onto the new software platform, give Damac centralised management of 200 doors, across the seven sites, networked to a single control room. This is a major efficiency benefit for human resources and IT teams through streamlined user registration procedures, better management of individual access privileges and detailed audit reporting of all personnel movements around the estate.

Following a smooth transition, multiple features of the system include a centralised active directory management for staff registration and access rights, integration of Damac’s fire detection system, automated time and attendance reporting and more efficient and effective security operations.

Fred Durnford, Sales Manager at Orion Systems, said, “eFusion has given Damac the long-term capability for easy modular expansions to add additional access control, safety, surveillance and building management functions. Moving forward, we can integrate further software and equipment onto the eFusion platform to provide Damac with a common situational overview using off-the-shelf, affordable integrations and simple, intuitive programming.”

A spokesperson for Damac Properties, added, “Our vision is to be the leading luxury developer in the Middle East by building the highest quality residential, leisure and commercial developments.  To help achieve this we need to manage our core business operations as efficiently as possible.  The Maxxess solution is helping us achieve those goals by optimizing resilience, ensuring low operating and maintenance costs, while providing us with the scope to upgrade and scale as we grow and adapt our business.”
