We’re delighted to have received a commendation at this year’s Metropolitan Police CCTV Awards for our ‘excellent work with CCTV’.
The Metropolitan Police held the awards ceremony at New Scotland Yard to reward CCTV professionals for their security endeavours in London, on Friday 15th July.
The commendation was awarded to Kings for its work in detecting and preventing crime in London using remote CCTV and delivering evidential image capture and remote crime reporting by a 3rd party CCTV monitoring station on behalf of a key client. Thanks to its high quality images and reporting, Kings was also acknowledged as being a driving force to enable the linking of known prolific offenders for multiple crimes, resulting in arrests and custodial sentences.
The award’s host was Det Chief Insp Mick Neville, Head of the Central Forensic Image Team, at the Yard, who thanked CCTV providers for the ‘excellent evidence they provide’. CCTV, he pointed out, is the cheapest forensic science, cheaper that is than fingerprints and DNA; ‘we solve more crime than they do’.
Too often, Mr Neville admitted, police can be criticised for not doing anything with CCTV provided by businesses. He assured the audience that CCTV was used by police, if the footage was given: 'We finish the job.'
Anthony King, Kings Security CEO, commented: 'I am very pleased that Kings has been recognised for the service it provides to the Met Police. Rob King and the team have really showcased our ability to help close the loop with CCTV imaging, leading to real results with the conviction of repeat offenders. The team’s dedication, and the exceptionally positive feedback we received from the Metropolitan Police, reflects King’s continued commitment to providing excellent CCTV imaging and reporting, helping to ensure the safety of the London’s businesses and customers.'
