Fire safety of hot work

Hot work can be defined as ‘any temporary operation or task that involves open flames or production of heat and/or sparks’.  Being temporary in nature, means that the work is likely to be carried out by those unqualified in fire safety or in an area that is not specifically designed with fire safety in mind.  Talk to the FPA to find out about practical guidance on managing your hot works safely to include:
- Examples of what hot work is
- Consequences of careless hot work and problems that can occur
- Guidance on safe procedures and training
