The security industry is changing at a rapid rate thanks to the continuing development and acceptance of IP technology. Norbain has embraced this change and want to ensure they give their customers the opportunity to do the same.

To this end, part of Norbain’s focus at IFSEC 2012 will be educational and they will be running a series of seminars from the dedicated Seminar Theatre on the stand across all four days of the show.

Each seminar will tackle an industry hot topic, providing important insights into issues such as IP technology, networking, legislation, storage options and remote hosting. Each speaker is an expert in their field with years of industry experience behind them to answer any questions you may have.

The Seminar Theatre will be comfortably furnished and includes a dedicated coffee bar, allowing delegates to relax and make the most of their time away from the hustle and bustle of the show.

Full subject details can be found below:

How IP technology has changed the way we store data
The uptake of IP technology has opened up the number of storage options available. From NAS to cloud and edge to solid state, there are a range of options, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. It is important that installers understand these different options as part of their risk assessment and risk management procedures. We will take you though exactly what options are available, how they work and their individual benefits. These will be supported by real-life scenarios illustrating the effectiveness of different options to achieve different goals.

The advantages of remotely hosted CCTV
Norbain can now offer a web-based hosted CCTV service that works via your existing internet connection. It provides installers and end users alike a wide range of advantages including: 24/7 accessibility, no high initial investments (e.g. NVRs), affordable monthly subscription and ease of use. Buzz will be explaining how the service works and what advantages it offers you and your customers.

The opportunities and benefits of partnering with Norbain
Norbain is far more than just a distributor. As a true partner for your business, we have developed a range of services to educate, support and advise you, helping you to win new business and maximise opportunities. This seminar will introduce two of our new services, Service Plus and Training Academy, briefly examining what each service offers. Supporting case studies and customer testimonials will help illustrate how and where significant cost and time savings can be achieved.

New intruder legislation and the importance of compliance
On the 1st June 2012, PD6662:2010, the new scheme for the application of European standards for Intrusion and Hold Up Alarms, comes into force in the UK, bringing changes to system design and performance, and verification of alarms. We will be giving an overview of the significant changes required to comply with the new standards and will answer questions on system design and integration.

Emerging technologies in Access Control and the changes they bring
We will be explaining the progression in Access Control Technology, looking specifically at developments in credential technology, reader technology, biometrics, controller technology software and door entry. We will also give you our views on how we see the future of Access Control technology, including areas such as wireless, embedded contactless, converged software, network connectivity PoE and the wider use of biometrics.

There are only 40 spaces in the Theatre, so availability is limited. To register, please visit www.norbain.com/ifsec.
