Enhancing On-Site Security for the Irish Government

TDS (Time Data Security) Ltd. have been working with the Houses of the Oireachtas since 2014 with the aim of providing an innovative method of streamlining their visitor management. The system was designed to take into account the various stakeholders that are involved in the operations of Leinster House whilst giving care to the work that is undertaking and the physical structure & layout of the government facility in Dublin. 

Challenges
The Houses of the Oireachtas is a high profile and people busy locations in the country. The sites receive close to 100,000 visitors a year, in addition to those who pass through the buildings of Leinster House. Each year, along with the members of Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann, there are a significant amount of visitors who pass through the buildings of the Houses of Oireachtas gaining sight of Irish democracy in action.The management and control of members of the Dáil, the Seanad and on-site visitors are crucial to the smooth and secure running of the Houses of the Oireachtas. To strengthen their security requirements, a comprehensive visitor management solution from TDS (Time Data Security) Ltd was selected.

Process
A key requirement for the Houses of Oireachtas was to cater for the public visitors that attend the site annually. As such, TDS supplied the Houses of the Oireachtas with their visitor management solution which is designed to manage and control visitors in a quick and efficient manner ensuring access to the site is provided in a secure yet unobtrusive manner. Leinster House required the ability to facilitate swift public screenings as well as customisable visitor passes in order to deal with high quantities of visitors in a time efficient manner. As such, it was required to have a quick and easy-to-use touch screen kiosk to facilitate ease of access. The TDS Visitor management solution brings all the functionality of a check-in desk in a single intuitive digital solution. A key requirement for Leinster House was the ability of the visitor management solution capable of processing a significant volume of visitors at a time and the ability to pre-register visitors prior to their arrival on-site. In addition, it was required that the visitor management solution has the ability for a visitor to self-register themselves via a kiosk. Both these key requirements allowed for a reduction in administration burden and enhance visitors experience to the site.

Results
The TDS Visitor management solution brings all the functionality of a check-in desk in a single intuitive digital solution. TDS supplied the Houses of the Oireachtas with their visitor management solution which is designed to manage and control visitors in a quick and efficient manner ensuring access to the site is provided in a secure yet unobtrusive manner. Leinster House required the ability to facilitate swift public screenings as well as customisable visitor passes in order to deal with high quantities of visitors in a time-efficient manner. As such, it was required to have a quick and easy-to-use touch screen kiosk to facilitate ease of access. The visitor management solution provided by TDS (Time Data Security) Ltd. also had configurable statistical reports for management analysis to increase on-site security and to pinpoint accuracy for tracking visitor numbers to the Houses of Oireachtas.
