Demonstrating its EdgeVis Live
technology in conjunction with the
Canon VB-R11VE speed dome, Digital
Barriers will show how these solutions
can deliver true real-time highdefinition
surveillance, over any wireless
network, anywhere, every time.
The EdgeVis Live streams are
integrated with Canon Webview
protocol and can be displayed
using Milestone XProtect software
or dedicated EdgeVis viewers via
Android and iOS smartphones and
tablets. Based on military-grade
video-compression and streaming
technology, the solution uses 60% less
bandwidth than standard technologies,
enabling the delivery of smooth frame
rates with near zero latency.
EdgeVis Live
Digital Barriers EdgeVis technology
provides live and reliable video over
bandwidth-constrained or congested
networks. Ideally suited for applications
including crime prevention, event
monitoring and critical infrastructure
monitoring, the solution has been
designed to ensure that video can be
delivered over wireless networks with
under 0.5 second latency to users
anywhere, at a reduced cost. In addition,
Digital Barriers’ TVI (Transport Video
Interface) actively monitors bandwidth
at each instant, using the information to
adjust the amount of image detail so that
it never exceeds the bandwidth to ensure
a constant frame rate.
With exceptional PTZ functionality and
long range zoom capabilities, the Canon
VB-R11VE is ideal for monitoring large
city areas, and is easy to reposition
remotely. In addition, the CMOS sensor
provides superior high definition images,
particularly in low-light applications.
Smart Shade Control technology
optimises exposure to improve highlights
and correct dark areas, useful for backlit
conditions in areas such as car parks and
transportation hubs.
