The Hyde Group
The Hyde Group is a London-based housing association, offering residential accommodation for vulnerable people and those in need of affordable long-term housing.
CLM Fireproofing provided numerous passive fire protection services to The Hyde Group. The main service we provided was compartmentation, which helps to limit the passage of flames and smoke between walls and floors. This is particularly vital when you consider the rate at which fire can spread in tall buildings and tower blocks.
Additionally, we worked with The Hyde Group to maintain fire doors, helping to ensure that they not only provide a clear means of exit but that they also prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
Finally, our team of experts carried out professional drylining and boarding. This offered multiple benefits, not just in terms of fire protection and resistance but also soundproofing and thermal insulation.

One Crown Place
One Crown Place is a unique and exciting construction project. Melding historic Georgian architecture with sleek modern design, Hackney is a fitting setting for this ‘old-meets-new’ vision. This project has a particularly ambitious scope, including 246 private apartments and 140,000 sq ft of cutting-edge office space, not to mention converting a Georgian terrace into a luxury boutique hotel.
We collaborated with Mace to devise a strategy for passive fire protection. The main part of this was using intumescent paint to coat the structural steel framework, with a decorative finish. As well as this, we were asked to provide compartmentation services throughout the building.

Battersea Power Station
Battersea Power Station is a former industrial site in the midst of one of the largest redevelopment projects in Europe. Spanning over 8 million sq foot, this project will culminate in the creation of a vibrant mixed-use development, giving London residents an exciting new neighbourhood and business quarter.
In October 2018, CLM Fireproofing was hired by both UKG and J Coffey Construction for our expertise in intumescent paint application. One of the main features of this project was that the paint had to be applied with a high decorative finish. We were also contracted for specialist grit blasting so that surfaces were fully prepared for the intumescent paint. Our team had the unique challenge of working with two clients simultaneously, balancing their respective requirements whilst still offering a high quality of service.

COVID-19 Mega Lab
Based in Leamington Spa, the Rosalind Franklin Laboratory has been described as a ‘COVID-19 megalab’ and ‘one of the largest and most innovative diagnostic facilities’ in the UK. This facility was converted from an existing 225,000 sq ft structure, and as it scales up to capacity it is set to not only process hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 tests a day but also create up to 1,500 new jobs.
