The Mansion House is a listed building, and the home and office of the Lord Mayor of London. Staff were struggling with fire doors during events. Dorgard units were fitted to the doors and now staff can keep doors open, and catering staff can move around easily with trays and food.
The City of London Corporation looks after the fire safety of 900 properties including the Mansion House, the home and office of the Lord Mayor of London. Built in 1739, this spectacular listed building hosts a variety of events including banquets and conferences. The Mansion has a warm and inviting feel, with unique large gold leaf doors which lead into the dining room. It's estimated that 50,000 people visit the Mansion House every year.
Terence Short is Fire Safety Advisor for the City of London Corporation. His role is to maintain safety for the Corporation’s clients at all times and reduce the risk of fire. Terence found that the current fire precautions at the Mansion House, while effective in keeping the fire doors closed, weren’t practical for accessibility.

Following a challenging 2 year period distinguished by expanding profits and sustained growth, the Fireco team are excited to announce the appointment of James Wheeler as their Chief Executive Officer.
The School of Life Sciences (SLS), part of Dundee University, was using a paging system to alert Fire Marshals when there was a fire alarm activation. The SLS Safety Team were concerned because the paging system only worked within a limited range so if the Fire Marshals weren't within that range they wouldn't be informed of the alarm and wouldn't be able to assist in evacuation. The SLS Safety Team did some research and found that Fireco's Digital Messaging Service was the best option due to it's unlimited range.
Anchor Hanover Group specialise in retirement and independent living houses. Due to the ageing demographic, residents were struggling with the heavy self-closing fire doors. The Estate Manager liaised with some of her colleagues who also had the same problem and they recommended Fireco's Freedor SmartSound.
Housing 21 site, Granville Court, found that elderly and disabled residents were struggling with the heavy fire doors around the building. The Housing Manager knew she needed to address the problem in order to avoid door wedging. She contacted the Company Surveyor who recommended using Fireco's Freedor SmartSound.
