GJD Manufacturing acquire a controlling share of Advanced LED Technology Ltd

Illuminating growth in the Security Industry

GJD Manufacturing Ltd, leading CCTV detector manufacturer, has concluded a deal to acquire a controlling share of Advanced LED Technology Ltd. Manchester based GJD and Advanced LED Technology from Newcastle are brilliantly matched in their complementary technologies.

GJD has a strong brand and positioning in the global market with its range of CCTV detectors. Advanced LED Technology designs, develops and manufactures a comprehensive, innovative range of infrared and white light LED illuminators predominantly used for the professional CCTV sector. GJD detectors trigger CCTV systems which need good quality infrared or white lighting to 'see'. The Clarius range of products is the first joint offering with high performance infrared LEDs designed to provide class leading performance, long life and ultra low maintenance. Incorporating the latest surface mount LEDs with enhanced optical output and outstanding reliability enables Clarius illuminators to deliver excellent night-time images.

The combination of detection and illumination is a strong market proposition. However, the synergy between the two companies runs beyond the market potential, with both being committed to product innovation, quality and service. GJD has been established for almost 30 years and was bought by its current owners in 2004. Managing Director, Mark Tibbenham has taken the business forward and seen the company grow into a multi-million pound global market leading business.

Advanced LED Technology Ltd’s Managing Director is Keith Fenwick. The company doubled its production facilities in 2011 to meet the growing high demand for its products. The CCTV detector market will undoubtedly welcome the merger of both companies.

A spearhead for growth, this deal will position the two companies at the forefront of technology, matching GJD’s detectors with Advanced LED Technology’s illuminators across global markets. Combined turnover between the two businesses is currently around the £4 million mark. This is expected to reach £10 million within the next 3-5 years, with expected growth coming both in the UK and especially overseas. Each production site is expected to see expansion, bringing jobs to both the North West and North East. GJD and Advanced LED Technology brands and companies will remain distinct.
