ekey finger scanners - Your life, connected

The “intelligent house” is now becoming reality by combining automation systems for private homes or businesses with ekey fingerprint readers. To interconnect both systems the ekey converter UDP has been developed, and there are drivers available for integration into Crestron, Control4 or Gira.

“Connecting an ekey finger scanner into automation systems via UDP offers several advantages over conventional relay integration,” explains Georg Schaffer, Export Director at ekey and expert for fingerprint readers. Your home will automatically detect, who is actually present and who isn’t. For example, apart from unlocking your front door the temperature can be regulated while opening the roller shutters. Also, you can define specific time zones to restrict access for cleaners or other groups. At the end of the day, there are hardly any limitations for configuring customized scenarios. Each finger can be used to trigger another event.

The UDP data package sent from the ekey finger scanner to the automation system contains User Name, User ID, Finger ID, Date, Time, etc.
