ASSA ABLOY to showcase compliant security solutions at IFSEC

30 Apr 2013

ASSA ABLOY and HID Global technologies help millions of customers to access their world securely.

At IFSEC 2013 all these brands are showcasing the cutting edge in access technology on one stand. See demonstrations of all the key products in Hall 4, at Stand C40 and C50.

Security expert Abloy UK is showcasing its CLIQ Remote electro mechanical security platform and electric locking solutions at IFSEC 2013, offering security professionals advice on compliant solutions and the opportunity to have greater key management and security, including audit trails for padlocks.

Recent figures released by the Fire and Rescue Services show that 46 per cent of public buildings, 42 per cent of care homes, 42 per cent of schools and 37 per cent of hospitals were deemed ‘unsatisfactory’ when inspected for the correct means to escape in case of a fire, with this in mind Abloy will be showcasing its compliant security solutions at IFSEC.

Many specifiers and installers are still unaware of what constitutes a compliant solution and the Abloy team of experts will be on hand to discuss this topic and answer any questions.

A compliant solution is one that meets the needs as laid out in the appropriate building regulations. Unlike electro-magnets, electric locks do provide a compliant solution, satisfying the needs of both fire doors and emergency/panic situations where a mechanical means of escape is required. Exit doors should not be reliant on a fire alarm or some other “request to exit” to allow egress.

Abloy’s world class electric locking solutions are highly adaptable, with incomparable functionality and build quality, they provide a high specification solution for all door and access control systems.

Also on show will be the award-winning CLIQ Remote. This range offers the latest in user-friendly, web-based security management and is designed for remote sites, enabling the commissioning, programming and full administration of security management centrally via web-based software.

The technology combines mechatronics with web-based software to allow remote management of disparate or large electronic master-keyed sites at any time, from anywhere in the world.

Visitors can get an interactive demonstration of how the CLIQ Remote and electric locking systems work on stand C40/C50, with Abloy UK representatives on hand to answer any questions.

CLIQ Remote uses web based software allowing rail engineers and their contractors to have keys remotely authorised for use in specific operational areas within the existing masterkey system for a pre-determined period of time. This ensures the highest level of key control incorporating maximum flexibility to ensure access in the event of an emergency to nominated key holders.

This solution also provides comprehensive audit trails on cylinders and padlocks and the ability to remove lost or stolen keys from the system, thereby providing tight key management at all times.

Jon Burke, Marketing Manager for Abloy UK, said: “IFSEC is the world’s leading annual security event, making it the perfect platform to talk about and advise specifiers and installers alike with regard to compliant solutions and industry standards. With a lot of misunderstanding in the market place, we’re looking forward to helping inform about compliance and how it’s best to achieve it in all applications.”
