ASSA ABLOY security solutions for nurseries

ASSA ABLOY nursery security solutions combined power of award-winning technology from HID, ABLOY, Yale, Mul-T-Lock, Traka and effeff.

Nurseries are subject to a conflict of obligations over 'safe doors' on a daily basis. It is vital that children do not leave the nursery without supervision, yet the little ones must also be able to escape to the outside unaided in the event of an emergency. What's more, nurseries also need protect themselves against uninvited guests and break-ins. These requirements are met with ASSA ABLOY solutions.

The right combination of technical solutions makes nurseries safe and can also be used very easily by teachers and parents. With an effeff locking system for escape doors specially designed for nurseries, the door is closed and locked in its basic setting. A switch is fitted on the outside of the door, which is only activated during specific times of day, such as drop-off and pick-up times when parents can open the door easily from the outside. The door is then immediately locked again automatically. Authorised users can also unlock the door outside these defined time periods using a key switch. Inside the nursery, there is a button and an escape route terminal installed next to the door. Fitted at a height of 1.80 metres, adults can press the button easily whereas children are not able to reach it. Adults can unlock the door using this button at any time. A door terminal with an emergency button installed at a height of about 1.05 metres ensures that children can also escape without any help from adults in the event of an emergency. If a child presses this button, he or she can open the door from the inside. However, an alarm is also triggered at the same time, meaning children are not able to leave the building unnoticed.

EdgePlus Solo is highly suitable as an access control solution for nursery school doors. This intelligent, single-door access control unit combines configuration, activation and a user interface in a single unit. It can be configured and managed using a standard web browser without the need for special software. The controller is suitable for use indoors while the iCLASS Reader with an IP54 protection rating and an operating temperature range between -40°C and 65°C is suited for use both indoors and outdoors. The reader adjusts itself automatically to its environment, thus providing an optimal read range. Highly effective security is guaranteed thanks to reciprocal authentication and data encryption between cards and the reader.
