One of the UKs leading pharmaceutical research and development sites is now being protected by industry-leading Advanced fire panels following a multi-million pound redevelopment project.
The complex installation encompassed a large number of buildings fulfilling diverse functions, including offices and more challenging laboratory environments. Advanced worked with the contractor, Slough-based Tri Management Ltd, to specify a system based on the benchmark MxPro 5 fire panel range.
Robin Kemp, South East Regional Sales Manager for Advanced, commented: Although confidentiality prevents us from naming the specific client for this job, it was such a complex and bespoke project that we still wanted to share it. This is a hugely high-profile site, operated by a household name and developing medicines that will make a huge different to peoples lives. Specifying a fire system to work in across the site from offices to sterile clean-room environments was a major challenge.
The Tri Management team is currently working its way through the buildings at the secure site and so far more than 70 MxPro 5 components have been installed, including fire panels, repeater panels and firemans controls. There are two main base stations and the whole system is networked so that it can be controlled from a central location within the complex.
Tony OConnell, spokesperson for Tri Management, said: This is a project that demands the latest fire technology, with an option to expand and upgrade the system in the future. From both a technical and commercial perspective the MxPro 5 panels offered by Advanced are the most suitable for the clients requirements.
We have offered Advanced systems for many years and we have always found their products to be high quality and very reliable, while still being offered at a competitive price. The installation process has been carefully managed, with a temporary wireless solution being utilised in some areas while the main system is being installed to ensure the safety of personnel and the buildings themselves.
MxPro is Advanceds flagship range of multiprotocol panels, offers customers a choice of two panel ranges, four detector protocols and a completely open installer network that enjoys free training and support. MxPro panels can be used in single loop, single panel format or easily configured into high speed, 200 panel networks covering huge areas. Advanceds legendary ease of installation and configuration and wide peripheral range make it customisable to almost any application.
MxPro 5 is the highest performance panel manufactured by Advanced, the result of decades of fire systems experience. It offers ultimate performance and flexibility, with up to eight loops supporting a maximum of 254 devices per loop and up to 200,000 devices per network. MxPro 5 is also compatible, with Advanceds unique Dynamic Tools fire panel software, making it simple to control and configure, while also offering full compliance with the EN54 Part 13 standard, which means that the system will continue to perform to its maximum capability during a fire situation.
Advanced is a world leader in the development and manufacture of intelligent fire systems. Its legendary performance, quality and ease-of-use sees its products used in prestigious and challenging locations all over the world, from single panel installations to large multi-site networks. Fusion Advanced products include complete fire detection systems, multi-protocol fire panels, extinguishing control and fire paging systems.
