Founded
in Hong Kong in 1999, Yuneec International Co. Ltd. is a world leader in
electric aviation.
Yuneec’s
two seat electric powered aeroplane, the E430, features a 40KW (54HP) electric
propulsion system and composite airframe. Recognising this achievement, Yuneec
International was awarded the Lindbergh Electric Aircraft Prize (LEAP) by Erik
Lindbergh, the grandson of Charles A. Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh for
the aircraft's "significant commercial potential" and
"compelling design" launching the two-seater as an airplane that
"could make possible practical, sustained electric flight." The E430 was
also recognised by the prestigious London Design Museum’s UK Design Awards for
excellence in design.
The
E-Spyder, a single seat electric powered aircraft features the innovative
PowerDrive 24 propulsion system integrating the Motor, Motor Controller, 75
VOLT Battery, and Charger. The 24KW power plant quietly propels the plane at
speeds of 68 miles per hour (59 knots) with flight times up to 1.5 hours
received the world’s first type certification for an electric aircraft from
Deutschen Ultraleichtflugverbandes (DULV) E.V in 2013.
Yuneec’s core technologies power its manned aircraft as well as its Aerial Photography& Video Systems (APV) and its market leading line of radio controlled aircraft for the hobby market.
With over 1800 employees in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Hamburg, Yuneec International manufactures over 1 million OEM units a year, sold under the Blade, Parkzone, E-Flite, Firebird, Firebird XL and Q500 brands. The Company’s achievements include the introduction of the hobby industry’s first “Ready to Fly” virtually crash-proof radio control electric powered airplane (Firebird and Firebird XL) and the design and manufacture of the market leading Blade radio controlled helicopters and micro-copters.
Recent innovations include the design of the world’s first Smart Transmitter (the “ST24 Ground Station”) that combines a 2.4GHz radio control transmitter with a 5.8GHz Digital video link and an Android operating system with 7” LCD Screen. In 2014, Yuneec introduced the Q500 and H920 aerial photography and videography systems that feature an integrated 1080p camera (60 FPS) with a 3 Axis gimbal and 5.8GHz real-time digital video streaming.
